Rise Up No matter where you are or what you are doing, you have to deal with gravity every moment of your life. Gravity has a job and that is to hold you down. Just look at your body. As you age, your body becomes a graphic display of the laws of gravity. You look in the mirror and everything is a few inches lower than it used to be. Your face, your stomach, its all heading south of the border and you cant even see the border any more. Messiah is the opposite. Messiah rose! And the power of Messiah and of salvation is the power to rise. In Messiah, you have the power to rise and to go against the way the flesh pulls. In Messiah, you no longer have to be oppressed, suppressed or depressed. So stop being dragged down, pulled down, pushed down, knocked down and kept down. Messiah rose and you can do the same. The law of gravity and of the flesh cannot stand against the power of Messiah. Nor can anything or anyone hold you down if you will live in the power of His rising. Mission: Declare victory over your problems and temptations. You are free to rise in the power and love of Messiah. Luke 24:6-7 6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, 7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. They were puzzled, wondering what to make of this. Then, out of nowhere it seemed, two men, light cascading over them, stood there. The women were awestruck and bowed down in worship. The men said, “Why are you looking for the Living One in a cemetery? He is not here, but raised up. Remember how he told you when you were still back in Galilee that he had to be handed over to sinners, be killed on a cross, and in three days rise up?” Then they remembered Jesus’ words. Privilege When you see your work as a burden, youre not going to do it very well, and youll make yourself miserable in the bargain. When you can instead see your work as a privilege, you completely change things for the better. When you see your work as a privilege, your effectiveness and your satisfaction skyrocket. You experience a dramatic improvement in your creativity and level of commitment. Just because there are burdensome elements to your work is no reason to see the work itself as a burden. Most likely, you can find a way to eliminate or make improvements to those troubling components. It’s important to make that distinction, between what youre seeking to accomplish and the tasks and procedures you must undertake to get there. It enables you to be fully committed to and enthusiastic about the goal, while being flexible about the way you achieve it. The opportunity to make a difference is indeed a privilege. Although the path may at times be frustrating and uncomfortable, the destination remains highly desirable. If there’s something about your work that continues to trouble you, find a way to fix it. Get to the point where you can see your work as a privilege, and raise yourself to a whole new level of achievement.
