Risky Seeds, Risky Hearts Excerpt: Colton Masterson scrubbed a hand over his face and stared at the paperwork littering his desk. Life hadn’t exactly been going as planned. He had been delayed two years in getting his Associates degree in Business Administration because of the ranch, and now he was missing another semester he had hoped would help him get caught up. If only his little brother, Ty, hadn’t broken his arm falling from the loft of the barn. But with him laid up, Dad couldn’t manage the ranch on his own, not with his crippled leg. Colton tried to force away the awful memory of Pa’s bleeding, crushed leg under the overturned tractor in the pasture ditch. They had just V’d the ditch, and as Pa tried to pull the left wheels out of the ditch, the tractor overturned. Colton had jumped off the V but Pa had been thrown under the tractor.
