Ritter is at the vet getting his bandage changed - we hope to have his wound sewn up soon for the final stretch of healing. Meanwhile Ritter is mastering the art of coning people on the back of their legs.Yesterday he coned Aunt Cathy and Uncle Rich - the ultimate compliment from a dachshund. Youve Been Coned! ( now please feed me even though I just ate dinner 5 minutes ago) Couple things to keep in mind: 1. Pet insurance is the way to go! We use PetPlan. 2. Any animal bite - go to the vet pronto. 3. Call Animal Control and the Police immediately. It may save a life. 4. If you see a dog loose - call animal control ASAP. Some of you have been through this and know our pain intimately - the 3 AM pain med cries and the lack of sleep in caring for an animal this severely injured. And then there is the joy of the first tail wag since the bite and the joy of a toy once again being played with again weeks later. Some of you though have lost your animals tragically to severe dog bites. My heart goes out to you and I send you comfort and hugs. Both Grant and I are thankful Ritter survived this attack.
