River Crane Improvement Works Following major pollution events in 2011 and 2013 the Council is carrying out some river improvement works to improve river habitat and pollution resilience. These will consist of: • Tree works along the edge of the river to allow greater light to the river and the bank • Removal of tow boarding and scalloping the riverbank to create a greater diversity of wetland habitats The tree works are due to start on the 26th January and will be followed up by the habitat creation later in the year.
