Riveting (no pun intended) article about various US helmets developed for the First World War by the Arms and Armor department of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is fascinating to see the varieties inspired by medieval prototypes. There is an equally fascinating article about the British Brodie helmet (WWI) in Volume 9, Issue 6, July 2014 of E&T (Engineering and Technology) Magazine written by Dan Shadrake. I can’t find it online but Dan sent me a hard copy of the magazine and it is well worth seeking it out if this is something of interest to you. metmuseum.org/about-the-museum/now-at-the-met/2014/bashford-dean-and-helmet-design-during-world-war-i#
