Road Warriors honor officer shot in the line of duty GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) - A Greenville police officer shot in the line of duty was honored Friday with a ceremonial first puck drop during the Road Warriors’ game. In September, officer Timothy Harrison was shot outside the law enforcement center. He exchanged gunfire with 23-year-old Evan Bennett right after deputies say Bennett shot in the lobby at the LEC. Harrison, considered a hero by many, took to the ice for the ceremonial first puck drop just four months after being shot in the arm, side and back. “The man had already shot into the front of the law enforcement center at other officers and he ambushed Timothy Harrison when he got out of his car in the parking lot,” Greenville police media relations officer Jonathan Bragg said. Sheriff’s deputies say Bennett killed two security guards at the Hollingsworth Textile Plant and his stepfather before firing shots into the LEC and taking his own life. “It was a very heroic thing that he went through that night and we just wanted to honor him in many different ways,” Bragg said.
