Road closures and parking bans for RiverFire The Berlin Police Department is announcing the following street closures and parking bans to ensure public safety during the festivities. The city apologizes for any inconvenience to motorists but encourages the public to enjoy the many activities taking place. Route 16 from the VFW to the 12th Street Bridge will be closed from 1:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and there will be no parking on that section of Main Street. Traffic will be re-routed to Norway Street. There will also be no parking on Norway Street during that period. For RiverFire, ATVs will be permitted to ride with the flow of traffic north on Main Street from the connector trail to the Northern Forest Heritage Park. ATVS will also be allowed to ride south from the NFHP on Pleasant Street from the corner of Rite Aid and complete the loop by turning left at Vaillancourt & Woodward Insurance building to access the downtown and the “It’s All About the Pumpkin’ event there. The Zombie ATV Porker Run includes a stop in the downtown as one of the seven stops on its 32-mile run.
