Road delays ahead for East County Drivers: MCCLEARY – Drivers may encounter lane closures and short-term rolling slowdowns on State Route 8 near McCleary for several days beginning Tuesday, April 29. Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will remove hazard trees adjacent to the highway. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, April 29-May1, crews will work near eastbound SR 8 between milepost 5 and 5.5. To ensure safety of motorists, traffic will be cleared from the area using rolling slowdowns and right lane closures during tree-felling activities. Motorists are advised to plan for delays and add travel time to reach their destinations.
