Road repairs are underway for the railroad crossing on Slocum Road - TopicsExpress

Road repairs are underway for the railroad crossing on Slocum Road (near the intersection of Roosevelt and Slocum). Currently, the section of roadway around the railroad tracks has been partially removed to facilitate new paving -- leaving a very rough section of road for vehicles crossing the tracks. Finishing repairs to the road surface are scheduled for Sunday, 30 Nov., probably beginning in the afternoon. Drivers are encouraged to use an alternate route to enter and depart the air station, such as the Main Gate, or the Cunningham Gate when it is open, until the repairs are complete on Sunday. The current road condition causes a significant slowdown and backup of exiting traffic at the Roosevelt/Slocum intersection. One lane, however, will be open for traffic during the final repair operations on Sunday, for drivers who find it necessary to use Slocum Road.
