Robbers attack Taraba College of Agriculture The robbers burgled several offices. A gang of suspected armed robbers in the early hours of Saturday invaded the campus of Taraba State College of Agriculture, Jalingo, the Provost, Elizabeth Wachap, said. Ms. Wachap told the News Agency of Nigeria that the hoodlums burgled some offices, including hers, the registrar’s, the bursary as well as the Anatomy Laboratory and Pension Office. She said the hoodlums took away the safe in the cash office; but that there was no money in it. She said the robbers tied one of the security men on duty to a tree before proceeding to carry out their operations. Police officers were seen inspecting the affected offices of the college on Saturday while there has been an increase in cases of robbery attacks on residents of Jalingo recently. When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Joseph Kwaji, said he had yet to be briefed about the incident. Mr. Kwaji promised to call back as soon as he got information on the incident. (NAN)
