Robbery/ Assault Arrest Endicott, New York Date of Release November 17, 2014 On November 17, 2014, the Endicott Police arrested Lonell K. Barnes, age 29, 10 Washington Ave. Apartment #7, Endicott, NY for multiple charges. The Endicott Police responded to a reported stabbing at 2 Washington Ave. at 12:46 pm, in which the owner of the Washington Ave. Deli and an employee attempted to have Barnes leave the front of the store due to him harassing customers. A confrontation ensued and Barnes menaced the employee and stabbed the store owner in his arm. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the hospital and released. Barnes then ran south on Washington Ave. and then began to puncture the tires on two uninvolved vehicles that were parked on the street. Barnes then approached a 32 year old female that was walking on the sidewalk and stabbed her in the neck; this was witnessed by a business owner who then assisted the victim by pulling her into his business and calling 9-1-1. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the hospital and released. Barnes then entered the Citizens Bank at 18-20 Washington Ave. and announced he was robbing the bank while brandishing a knife. He stole money from the purse of one of the bank tellers before fleeing the scene when a uniformed officer entered the bank. Barnes then fled the scene, an officer attempted to use his Taser on Barnes but it was not effective, Barnes then continued to flee and was chased by two police officers on foot and was eventually apprehended inside of a Restaurant on North St. At the time of this incident Endicott Detectives were investigating and interviewing the victim of a stabbing that had occurred the night before. On November 16th, 2014 at 9:30 p.m. while at 1206 North St. a 19 year old male was stabbed in the face and upper torso by an unknown black male for no apparent reason. The victim later identified Barnes as his assailant. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries but was being kept in the hospital for observation. Barnes is being charged with the following crimes: One count of Robbery in the first degree, a class B felony One count of Attempted Assault in the first degree, a class C felony Two counts of Assault in the second degree, class D felonies Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree, class D felonies One Count of Menacing in the first degree, a class E felony Two counts of Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree, class a misdemeanors One count of Resisting Arrest, a class A misdemeanor Barnes is in the Endicott Police lock up waiting to be arraigned in the Village of Endicott Court. At this time there does not appear to be any connection between any of the victims and all appear to be random acts.
