Robbery from Person Greensboro, NC -- On March 4, 2014, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Officers responded to 1040 Summit Avenue in reference to a reported robbery of person. During their investigation, it was determined that the victim had gotten into a physical altercation with an acquaintance. During the altercation, the suspect produced a knife and the victim received a laceration to his hand. The suspect took cash from the victim before fleeing the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries. The suspect has been identified as 42-year old Ricky Joe Whipple and charges are pending for Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.
