(Robbery in Fairfield like out of Hollywood!) - 10:38pm–#Fairfield CT–A robbery at Chipotle Mexican Grill at 340 Grasmere Avenue played out like scene out of Hollywood. at 10:38pm an employee at the restaurant called police that she locked herself in the restroom in fear of hearing someone in the eatery when it should have been closed. Police quickly responded it was other employees but then at 10:41 reported it was a robbery and the suspects ran towards the railroad tracks. At 10:43pm police were in pursuit of a car with California plates at a high rate of speed (60mph) on Commerce Drive. A minute later they reported the car flipped over in front of McDonald’s at the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and Commerce Drive in Bridgeport. Witnesses told us they went to tackle one of the suspects and a very short time later Fairfield Police called for an ambulance for one of the suspects with a bite from Ruger, Fairfield Police’s K-9. Police suspected three in the car, two to rob the store and one in the get-away car. Money was seen all over the road in front of McDonald’s the suspects attempted to flee police as captured by DoingItLocal’s own hood reporter Eric Simpson. At 10:54pm Fairfield Police captured a second suspect who needed medical attention and escorted by Fairfield Police to Bridgeport Hospital with an amputated finger, apparently from the car accident roll over. Fairfield Police also reported a second handgun recovered. Bridgeport and Fairfield Police worked in tandem patrolling the area from Ash Street, Dewey Street and the nearby cemetery. They worked on leads from neighbors, but it did not turn up the third suspect at this time according to the shift commander in Fairfield. By 11:26pm Fairfield Police had video photos of the suspect captured by a neighboring business of Chipotle’s. This article was intentionally delayed due to an ongoing manhunt.
