Robert Emmett Nichols Robert Emmett Nichols, age 88, of Bristol, TN, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Pittsburg, PA a son to the late James Elbert and Louise Stettler Nichols. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Mr. Nichols was a graduate of University of Delaware, Fairmount State College of West Virginia and West Chester State, West Chester, PA. He was a teacher for the Delaware School System where he retired and also a substitute teacher for the cities of Kingsport and Bristol School Systems and Campbell Christian Academy. Mr. Nichols was a member of Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Louise Nichols and his brothers – Richard W. Nichols, Chuck Nichols, James Nichols, and a sister – Maragret Borza He is survived by: Daughters: Judith Ann Larkin and husband Jeffrey, Dianne Lynn Dishner and husband Gary, Kathleen Louise Adams and husband Jason. Grandchildren: Donald Dishner, Joshua Dishner, Jeremy Dishner, Kurt Larkin, Kristin Larkin, and Alexander N. Adams, Christopher Adam Great Grandchild – Joy Nathaniel Dishner The funeral service for Mr. Nichols will be held 7 pm, Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church with Dr. Rick Light officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm, prior to the service at the church. Entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Independent Board for Presbyterian Foreign Missions, 246 West Walnut Ln, Philadelphia, PA 19144 or to Eastern Heights Presbyterian Church, 431 Old Jonesboro Rd, Bristol, TN 37620.
