Robert Estes great post regarding KNEW channel 91 brought back memories of the toy crystal radio I had as a kid in the late 50s. I had one similar the picture. No batteries or power cord. No speaker. Earphone mandatory. Pure magic. Youd pull on the nose cone/antenna thingy to tune in the station. It would only pick up local stations (ie KJAX 1150 ??) Speaking of antennas. We had a TV antenna rotor on the roof that would allow us to adjust the antenna 360 degrees for maximum enjoyment. Still couldnt pick up 49er games. Any memories of toys in that era?
