Robert Heinlein once wrote a story featuring a spoiled cat who, during the winter would ask to go outside to relieve himself, and when his owner opened the door, the cat would complain because there was snow out there. He would then go to all the other doors of the house, asking to go out.....only to be disappointed that each door opened onto snow and cold. Heinlein said that the cat never stopped looking for the Door Into Summer. We are like that. People are constantly convinced that if they just had something more....more money, more time off, a bigger house, more luxurious car, beautiful wife, handsome (or handy) husband, children....or rid of the children they have, win the lottery,,,,,then we would be happy. I was thinking about that as I watched the winners of millions of lottery dollars complain that it had changed their lives and caused them unhappiness. Sometimes, if God is gracious, we do find the Door Into Summer.....and find that it is within us
