Robert Hennessey has made his first appearance at Bristol Magistrates Court to face a charge of evading lawful custody. bit.ly/1CIRcjt Hennessey, 50, was arrested at Heathrow Airport following deportation from Australia. The charge relates to Hennessey’s alleged absconsion from HMP Leyhill in South Gloucestershire in 1998. He was serving a life sentence for the manslaughter of his aunt in Plymouth in 1978. At the court hearing, Hennessey was remanded in custody to next appear before Bristol Crown Court on 19 Feb.
