Robert Karl Skoglund aka the humble Farmer is a good friend in St George Maine. I met him on Monhegan Island where I was attending a plein air painting workshop with David Lussier. I spent the day painting his portrait instead of the landscape and then attended his humor show. After discovering he did not have a place to stay I invited him to crash on my floor at Monhegan House. I met his wife driving back after the workshop the next day and then returned the next year to Monhegan to paint by myself and then the next year brought Jeff and Margo to explore the island as well. After that we returned most every year to visit at their BNB and skipped the island. Connie visited with me several years and sometimes I have visited by myself. I look forward to interesting and unpredictable conversations and poking around in his attic and chicken barn full of artifacts. Connie took great pictures and wrote a nice poem about our visits there.
