Robert Markowitzs A Dangerous Life (1988) was an account of the downfall of the Marcos Regime as seen through the eyes of journalist, Tony ONeill, played by American actor Gary Busey. Playing key roles in the movie, originally a six-part mini-series shown on TV, were Ruben Rustia as President Ferdinand Marcos, Tessie Tomas as Imelda Marcos, and Laurice Guillen as Cory Aquino. Tessie Tomas won a Best Supporting Actress award for her oftentimes funny and pathetic portrayal of the larger-than-life Imeldific. Also in the cast were Dina Bonnevie, Roy Alvarez, Cris Vertido, Rolando Tinio, Jaime Fabregas, and many more very talented Filipino actors. While in the midst of filming in Manila, Juan Ponce Enrile had the cast and crew of the movie booted out of the Philippines, due to alleged inaccuracies in the portrayal of historical events. The rest of the movie was filmed in Sri Lanka. Source: Video 48 and other internet sources.
