Robert Maulana Marohombsar Alonto: We are reaching out and appealing to those who have been posting gory pictures of those PNP-SAF casualties in FB to stop this in deference to the families of these fallen policemen and in the name of Justice, Compassion and Decency. As Muslims, we stand for Justice and so it behooves us to defend our rights as well as the rights of others and the oppressed. Compassion is part of our Islamic ethos and thus a virtue as well as an obligation. So we ought to be compassionate even to those who have wronged us and especially to those who have fallen to our “swords” in our defense of Justice. Decency is a moral value that we uphold at all times and therefore decency should govern every act we do when dealing with anyone including our adversaries. Justice, Compassion and Decency thus dictate that those gory pictures be withdrawn and never be posted again even for purposes of propaganda, information, let alone amusement. Remember: Those who wrong and oppress us do not know of Justice, Compassion and Decency. Therefore, they are not our teachers.
