Roberto Martinez surprised with Everton fans reaction to Muhamed Besic substitution Everton FC boss Roberto Martinez admitted he was surprised by the angry crowd reaction when he substituted Mo Besic for Arouna Kone 10-minutes from the end of last night’s goalless draw with West Brom – but explained that the Bosnian midfielder was injured at the time and had asked to come off. There were loud boos when the number 17 appeared on the subs board and Martinez said: “It did (surprise me) but I can understand the frustration around the crowd as well. “Mo has to come off but then he wants to sprint off to allow Arouna to come on.
