Robin Morgan, here is another one of those fable style stories: A small bird had waited too long to begin flying south for the winter, and by the time he did, he became colder, his wings heavy with snow and ice, and he fell to earth and landed in a barnyard. As he lay on the ground waiting to die, a cow walking past stopped and crapped out a big cow pie that covered the little bird. He lay in the cow pie contemplating this additional insult to his fate when he began to feel warmed by the manure. He snuggled down deeper into it and was revived by the warmth. Overjoyed at his second chance at life, he sang out loudly to celebrate. A nearby barn cat heard his singing and came over to investigate. Finding the little bird stuck int eh cow pier, the cat quickly scooped him out and ate him. The moral of this story is that not everyone who craps on you means you harm; not everyone who gets you out of that crap is your friend; and if you are warm and safe in a pile of crap, keep your mouth shut!
