If you justify the Medicaid system as being horrifically flawed in your state, then you might be justified in turning down Medicaid expansion dollars. If you turn down medicaid expansion dollars, then millions of people who might benefit from the Affordable Care Act are going to instead be slammed with unaffordable bills. If Millions of people have to pay for something they have never been able to afford and you can blame it on the Democratic Party, then perhaps your purple state will go back to red.
