Robin Williams....yes, he has always been one of my favorites...the man could entertain millions with a 5 minute improve of why his coffee was too hot...or what it was like sitting in the checkout at a grocery store. Im sad, yes...but Im also very confused....yes, I know depression is a serious thing. But I must ask him this...laughter is possibly the greatest gift you can give someone...and to be able to literally enter a room and within 10 seconds have those around you in stitches and begging for air...??? Im not stating this to create a discussion or here opinions of this or that about depression. Im just amazed at how people who can take life and make it better for others are depressed. Ive had my own bouts with depression...when life dealt me a hand I thought impossible to play. But never...never did I ever think that death would be the answer. I love comedy. My gosh...laughter to me is possibly the ONE thing I cannot live without! I am tired of the pattern of the greats of this craft...having such tragic endings. So many. I dont mean to come off cold or unfeeling....but I dont understand this. Honestly. We all have gifts...and even though we dont realize it, we use them to the best of our abilities...I remember when I taught...how it felt to be on a roll, to FEEL that the message was getting out there. You cant tell me this man did NOT feel loved..my goodness....but with that said, Robin, you made me smile...made milk come out of my noise....and you also could make me cry. It is sad that those who can make us feel all the emotions of life that make us feel better...for what ever reason, cannot feel it for themselves...RIP my tater skater....you had us all the moment you walked into the room.
