Robinology ~~ Yes, I agree. separation of church and state originated in a letter by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Church. It is NOT in the Constitution. None the less, I speak primarily of the fundamentals and an attempted reach at communicating its meaning. I remain solid that any religious doctrine,in practice, should never be a standard of education in the public school systems. That is why we have Sunday School. The Constitution provides the right for ALL citizens to practice religion based on individual choice. The US currently has over 4,200 religions, churches, denominations, religious bodies, faith groups, tribes, cultures, movements, ultimate concerns, etc. No ONE practice should be educationally administrative in the public school systems. Learning about those 4,200 religions, along with their philosophical and mystical teachings should be an elective subject at the post-secondary level. At minimum, it should be a teaching point in US History and the study of Constitutional Human Rights in secondary education. I am not a practicing Baptist. Yet, when I elected to attend a History course in college, entitled, Understanding the New Testament, I received preaching instead of historical lecturing by a Southern Baptist. Needless to say, I challenged that instructor during and after class regarding his teaching methodology. I aced all my exams, attended all classes, participated in class, and received a C, simply because I did not support his teaching Baptist indoctrination in a history class. Yes, I went to the Dean after the semester. It lowered my GPA, and at the same time, it increased my understanding why our forefathers left the Church and State of England in the 1600s. Forced religion is a personal assault. Religion is simply a belief system that assists an individual in his/her conscious understanding for existence. Religion is personal. Even GOD should not be a forced belief system under the US Constitution or Congressional Law. Not all of the 4,200 religions even believe in a God. If we allow our government to force selected Religion onto the masses, what makes that practice any less than being forced into Sharia Law?
