Robson: Reds have sent out a message Bryan Robson believes Manchester United have sent out a message with the summer signing spree. The Reds legend has been impressed with the six summer captures of Daley Blind, Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Ander Herrera, Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw, feeling they can help add the spark that was missing from the opening three games of the season. Certainly, five of the new men caught the eye in Sundays 4-0 defeat of QPR while Shaw was on the bench for the first time after recovering from injury. The resounding victory has left everybody eagerly anticipating next weekends trip to Leicester City. It was important that we bring some real star quality into the team, explained Robson in United Review, the official matchday programme. It sends out a message to everybody both inside and outside the club, reminding them who we are. You need the temperament and mentality to play for Manchester United when it really matters and, at times during our opening games, weve been without that mentality. You can see the ability there in the players, but people seemed to slip back into how they were last season. If youre going to be a Manchester United player, you need to be able to handle pressure. When you look at Blind and Rojo as players, they both have the grit and determination that you need in those situations.
