Rochana Dardarananda and Puvanai Dardarananda go to vote for Bangkoks Senator this March 30. Actually I disagree with elected senators. I think they should be selected from a list of eminent professionals, academicians, artists, social/humanitarian workers, lawyers, thinkers, etc.etc. as a counterbalance to the elected House of Representatives. The Thaksin/PuerThai regime tried to over exploit this by trying to amend the Constitution so that parents, spouses and siblings of House Representatives could also run for senatorship. Not to mention that ex-MPs and their drivers could also run. This way Thaksin could control both houses of Parliament: the MPs and the Senators.
