Rock, fortress, stronghold, deliverer, shield/ breath fleeting shadow, with these words King David contrasts God and man. Why is it when we are in need we look for earthly solutions rather than for what God can do? God would have us lift our eyes from the temporal to the things eternal. He would want us to see that he will work all things together for our good. He is a God who saves us from our enemies. He is the one who will guard and protect us from all that would harm us. May we always say, Some trust in chariots and some in horses but we will rely on the name of the Lord. Start your day know that God goes ahead of you and he will keep you from all harm.
