Rockets defeat 76ers 120-98. Houston goes to 49-22 while Philadelphia drops to 15-56 with a NBA record tying 26th consecutive loss. Sixers scored the first field of the game then the Rockets would get the lead with a three 3-2 and would not relinquish the advantage. Philly kept the game close in the first half but Houston blew the game open early in the third quarter and would have the lead as large as 27 in the fourth quarter. James Harden recorded his second career triple double with 26 points 10 rebounds and 10 assists and he sat out the fourth quarter with most of the other starters. Patrick Beverley had to leave the game late in the first half with a knee strain and did not return. He is questionable for Saturdays game when the Rockets host the Clippers at Toyota Center. Dwight Howard scored 17 points and pulled down 13 boards and Terrence Jones scored 20 points. Rockets are 29-7 at home with a 11 game home winning streak. They will finish a perfect 15-0 at home against the Eastern Conference marking the first time they went undefeated against the East at home in franchise history. 15 is Houstons winning streak versus the East at Toyota Center since losing to the Pacers one year ago tonight. Rockets are 23-5 against the East overall this season. Houston has won five in a row overall. If the Sixers lose Saturday in their home meeting with Pistons they will break the record set by the Cavaliers in the 2010-2011 season for longest losing streak in NBA history. In fact Phillys 26 game skid is tied for the longest in history in any of the four major sports leagues in North America and could have the record to themselves if they lose to Detroit Saturday. Sixers have not won since January 29 at the Celtics in Boston. Despite their losing streak they do not own the NBAs worst record this season. The Bucks have the leagues worst record at 14-57 one game worst than Philly which has the second worst record this season in the association. Rockets are 10-3 in March.
