Rockstar Working on the Next Version of a Famous IP A Rockstar employees LinkedIn profile hints at what may be next for the GTA maker. Although its unclear exactly which of Rockstars franchises hes referring to, an employee of a Rockstar support studio has revealed work is being done on the next version of a famous IP. In a Kotaku report, Internet sleuth superannuation discovered this on the LinkedIn profile of a Rockstar New England staffer who was describing what Rockstar is at work on post-Grand Theft Auto V. The profile provides no further information as to the identity of the game. Assuming it is a property of Rockstars, there are a number of possibilities. Just last month, Rockstar boss Dan Houser shared his interest in creating a new Bully game. Over the summer, a hint was dropped that Red Dead Redemption could eventually see a sequel when Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick described Red Dead as a permanent franchise. And, despite the closure of developer Team Bondi, the possibility of a sequel to L.A. Noire hasnt been ruled out. Given the way the statement was worded -- the next version of whatever IP this is -- this could also be related to Grand Theft Auto. PC and next-gen versions of Grand Theft Auto V have been rumored; the lack of any official word on additional versions of the game could merely be an attempt to avoid losing out on sales rather than any interest in keeping GTA V a 360 and PS3-only game. Other properties of Rockstars include Manhunt and Midnight Club, two series whose most recent original entries came in 2007 and 2008, respectively. Rockstar also has the Max Payne series, which saw its third game released last year. What do you think this famous IP is most likely to be? Which of Rockstars properties do you most want to see it focus its efforts on next? Let us know in the comments.
