He grinnned ear to ear...Bruce Johnston...joined the beach boys in 1965. He didnt mind being recognized...he dazzled me with tales. We talked old cars, old songs, etc. He had his son with him...a handsome young lad. I was too busy to get personal, but told him I loved the controversial 4th of July gig in DC that almost didnt happen til the public outcry demanded it. He enjoyed that. He asked me if I remembered when the Fat Boys and The Beach Boys did the rap / rock remake Wipeout. I told him that it was in my playlist for years...my infant sons favorite dance tune. He told me how the idea came about, and how pleased he was at the success of the rap / rock genre. Im glad I met him in person.
