Rocky is finally matt-free! We wanted to get him done sooner, but it isnt easy being vehicularly challenged. Yesterday Rocky was able to hitch a ride over to the vets with another volunteer and the Great Shave of 2014 was able to commence! Once the matts were removed, the full extent of how pitifully emaciated he is was revealed. They gave him a little gas anesthesia to make the process less stressful, and he was shaking as he woke up, so he got to wear Smoochies snow suit to keep warm until he was fully awake. Next step is lots of food and some blood work. This will tell us if his emaciation is from being on the street or if there are underlying issues. As of this morning, Rocky is eating very well and bright and alert!
