Rode my bike through the streets of Ferguson late last night with - TopicsExpress

Rode my bike through the streets of Ferguson late last night with a very good friend who grew up there to pay our respects. He is w/ the SLPD and we both went as a citizens. It is in a very difficult state right now and we were unable to really properly pay our respects. There are a lot of upset and distraught people under a full tactical militarization of the streets. The vocally distraught feeling was evident well outside of Ferguson as we traveled to that part of town. There was a confusing, antagonizing & unhealthy atmosphere on this night after the active unrest. It is so sad & particularly difficult to mourn right now, especially to those closest to the young man, Michael Brown, who was killed. I have so much sympathy to the family. I will likely return again later in the week to sit down at the same public spaces I have been to many times before to show my respects and support the community. Hopefully there will be progress and the focus will be on the mourning and a path to a confident public peace.
