Rode the Ganny Gallop with my BFF Julia Tizzard and her two beautiful mares Abby and Princess Zara... Thanks to these amazing mares, carried our old butts all the way! Im so lucky, so blessed, so damn amazed at these two girlies! We started out a with a wee bit too much excitement, loose horse, she even had the reins caught in her leg and just stopped and ate grass, I said to her, HEY, youre supposed to wait for me to get on before you run the race! She looked at me like you were taking too long But off we went! The first loop of 14 miles, went really smooth, excitement turned into miles covered quickly...next loop in the sopping chilly rain without a proper jacket, I might add, was ok, for the first 16, slowed down as our steady girls had never done 24 miles straight...so last 8 miles ran out of nike watch battery AND IPHONE so it felt like a hundred miles! But we did it! I didnt think I could go any farther and was praying the handsome young vet would say pulled..... Nope told me he loved my horse, and she was more than fit to continue with a heart rate of 10! I asked him to please check my heart rate!....LOL...and my legs...he just smiled politely and said youre good to go...so I gave the bad news to my friend, that we were out again, last out last in, did the 14, singing HI HO, ON THE TRAIL WE GO! ... but DAMN, WE FINISHED 50! Now I cant move today, even after a hot lavender Epsom salts bath and several glasses of wine...but thats another story!
