Rodney is on a mini-vacation. Im not saying where. He plans on being back Wednesday night for The Gay Uncle Time, but we will see. I spent the night finishing that Manson book and painting my props. The only way I know it is time to stop is when Wednesday night rolls around - done or not, I go with what I have. Our across the street neighbors brought us cookies like they did last year. They are so sweet. Their little girl was wearing a knitted owl cap, otherwise known as the cutest thing a baby could ever wear. Her room (which I have not seen, but have been told about) is owl-themed. I approve of this. Aspen is not too crazy about the TV and he is not too crazy about the paintings Im doing. He also doesnt like it when one of us goes away. I just took him for a short walk. Brrr. It is cold. Tomorrow we get free lunch at work. I like free lunch. We also found out last week we get the 26th off. I like getting any day off. Today I did a little research on Born Free as a potential future The Gay Uncle Show project. I loved, loved, loved those books and the movies when I was young. Devoured them. I didnt realize they continued on in different ways, including a movie with Richard Harris (which Ive now reserved at the library) and a connection to that Christian The Lion You Tube video which was all the rage a few years ago. All I have to do is read the words Christian The Lion and I start to sob uncontrollably. I didnt realize that George Adamson, the original Born Free guy, was connected to that story. There are several organizations out there, including a Born Free one, that work to protect lions. Ive given to Lion Guardians in the past. I feel like I should send them some money, since I made a little over the weekend and new underwear can wait. Maybe I should do a Two Night Benefit in 2015 - one night for the kittens and one for the lions. That would be fun. lionguardians.org/
