Roll up, roll up, its that wonderful time again! Nyssas Bi Yearly TV Schedule Round Up: NBYTSRU! Remember these are US dates and times, most of these shows are now fast-tracked and air in Australia if not within 24 hours, at least within a week. BSFF does not condone illegal downloading of videos. Personally Im not your mother so Im not going to tell you what to do. NEW SHOWS: Constantine: Based on DC Comics series Hellblazer. John Constantine an experienced demon hunter abandoned his fight against evil, however when an angel named Manny (no, this is not a Modern Family crossover) tells him to take a teaspoon of cement Constantine must return to the fray. Premieres October 24th. The Flash: Spin off from the successful Arrow series, follows the life of Barry Allen who is bestowed with superhuman speed after a laboratory accident. I do not believe there are any trench coats involved. Premieres October 7th. Forever: Medical examiner Henry Morgan is immortal, alongside his new partner Det Jo Martinez (I hope shes sassy.) he studies the dead in an effort to understand his lack of mortality. He can die, but regenerates a bit like whenever I die in Halo (which is frequently). Unlike Halo when he is reborn hes naked. This apparently happens a lot. Premieres September 22nd. Gotham: Follows the origin story of a certain Commissioner Gordon as a fresh faced police detective. His newest case? The murder of Bruce Waynes parents and hopefully getting Bruce some therapy. The series promises to detail the back stories of a number of villains including Catwoman, the Penguin and the Riddler. Premieres September 22nd. Marvels Agent Carter: Peggy Carter returns and must balance her life between working for Strategic Scientific Reserve and secretly joining Howard Stark on dangerous missions. Premieres January 2015. Scorpion: Its the Big Bang Theory after they graduate! A group of nerds form a super smart team to solve some of the worlds most complex problems. And they have a female friend who is a waitress. Am I the only one irritated by this dynamic? Premieres September 22nd. The Whispers: An alien invasion has begun on Earth, using the most insidious means of take over: the children. *cue audible gasp* Spielberg project so it has promise. Premieres TBA. Z Nation: No prizes for guessing this one, its zombies! Three guys have to get another guy from New York to California where a lab hopes to turn his blood into a vaccine. Why are these labs ALWAYS the furthest possible location from where the survivors are? Are they telling me there is no super advanced laboratories available in New York? Premieres September 12th. RETURNING SHOWS The 100: This was one of the breakout shows for 2014, so successful that prior to season one finishing on June 23rd the CW network announced season 2 would be bumped to a fall premiere (the prime season for shows in USA). 100 very attractive, though morally bankrupt, teenagers are sent back to earth over 100 years from now. Their mission is to not die following a nuclear war that led to the human race abandoning the planet. SPOILER: A lot of them arent very good at the not dying bit. Returns October 22nd. Arrow: Based on DC Comics Green Arrow if you can get past the acting that would make a statue jealous over the first few episodes then it is an enjoyable series that has surprised me more than a few times. Also features some great guest stars/characters. And theres a chick in it who has my first name and is an assassin - this please me. Returns October 8th. Black Sails: One word: PIRATES. Set 20 years before the events of Treasure Island Captain Flint adheres to his own set of rules, which presumable involve ransacking, rum, and talking parrots. Returns January 2015. Grimm: Police officer Nick Burkhardt is a Grimm charged with keeping the balance between humans and creatures of supernatural origins. He does indeed have sassy sidekicks. Returns October 24th. Helix: CDC workers attempting to contain an outbreak of an unknown pathogen in an arctic research station discover disturbing implications for the rest of humanity. Kinda of like zombies but not really. Returns January 2015. Lost Girl: Already confirmed to be the series final season, centres around a woman who discovers she is a Succubus a type of Fey with the ability (and need) to drain human life. And now typing this has reminded me of what happened last season which means Im traumatized all over again... Returns December 7th. Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D: If you dont know what this is I dont know why youre here. But because Im nice: follows Agent Coulson and his crack team who investigate strange occurrences. Hail Hydra, dont want any trouble. Returns September 23rd. Once Upon a Time: Do you wanna build a snowman?... Yes Anna, Elsa, and probably Olaf are coming to Storybrook, a town where fairytale characters have been exiled from their world into ours. Returns September 28th. Resurrection: Family members find their loved ones who were deceased (not the were) reappearing all over the world. They have no memory of where theyve been and some have been gone for decades. Naturally the US government freaks out. Returns September 28th. Sleepy Hollow: A modern day interpretation of the short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow follows a time travelling history professor (why none of my history professors looked like that I have no idea) and his partner a local police officer as the investigate the strange goings on in Sleepy Hollow. Returns September 22nd. Supernatural: The guy from The Gilmore Girls and another guy from Dark Angel are brothers who battle the supernatural. They have a cool car. Returns October 7th. The Walking Dead: A series about the apocalypse due to a zombie plague and a group of survivors trying to, well survive. Really good makeup throughout the series. Returns October 12th.
