Rolling slowly toward Saturday and the race. It was misty out...probably still going to rain most of the day, but I said NO to the treadmill. Did not feel 100 percent for some reason, so I opted for the straight track - the one I first started running back in August that seemed like it was going to kill me every time I ran it (Its about 1.6 miles (lol)) I felt like I was taking it easy, but still clobbered my best time by around a minute...average pace under 10 minutes, which seems to be normal now ... and considering when I started out I was lucky to keep my average pace under 12, Ill take it. The moist cool air felt good...was 64 degrees or something like that...then took Gizzy MoMo - Organic Shredder for Crossroad Press out for his walk. At the very tail end of Dr. Sleep, and I still dont trust Stephen King. Honestly, I think its become almost too formulaic that at the end of his books, you cant just have the people move on with a modicum of happiness... I like these characters, and Im worried whats going to happen to them in the very end. I also can see how what was once a novel is now two books, and how it could very simply be a trilogy... with elements of Firestarter in Book 3. No spoilers though...almost time to move to a new book...one that will carry me (among other thigns) through the 1/2 Marathon. My son Zane Wilson is safely in Virginia and on the base in Dam Neck, though as of very late last night, he hadnt found anyone on base to check in with. Hope hes okay..and all is well ... Today...firewall updates with Robby the network guy. Have to upgrade the RAM in our CIsco firewall so we can bring it up to the current iteration of its software and take advantage of all the cool new features. Going to be a long one...
