Rom 8:28: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. A number of people, over the last 2 weeks, have mentioned how much loss my family has endured this year! It caused me to plop myself down and list our losses but... Here are just a few! We lost our familiar fast life-style but we slowly gained patience, an understanding through our struggles and an appreciation for each other. We temporarily lost the ability to participate in our numerous activities but we each found out what was truly missed, what each individual passion was and what work ethic is needed in order to crawl back and achieve! (I proudly proclaim that we are a force to be reckoned with). We had much physical loss; rebuilt hand, reattached foot, numerous hardware put in to hold us together, fractured neck, broken tailbone, wrists, jaw, hip, ribs, pelvic bone, and more, but now we have an acute appreciation on how our bodies work and how awesome it is to be able to walk, jump in the shower, and even make dinner and clean the dishes (these are specific things that I remember dreaming about over the summer)! Our brains have taken a hit, specifically Taylor and I, and we have lost memories, are unable to handle stressful situations, and the ability to remember anything short term has vanished. (I forgot is a typical phrase for us) but we have adapted and found unlimited humor in our struggles! (Ask us about our shopping experiences...walking in and neither of us having a clue what we were going to get!) We have NOT lost our friends, our family or our faith. All have grown exponentially during this memorable journey. This was not a year of loss! Rather this was a year of undeniable, unforgettable, unrelenting growth.
