Roma Summer Jazz Workshop & Festival From August 23rd to 29th: One week of full immersion with five great musicians from the nation of jazz, plus three among-the-most-representative singers of the Italian scene. The 7 days of Jazz Workshop in the Eternal City, will be led by: Peter Bernstein: guitar Aaron Goldberg: piano Mark Turner: sax Reuben Rogers: double-bass/electric bass Gregory Hutchinson: drums Elisabetta Antonini: voice Sara Della Porta: voice Susanna Stivali: voice PROGRAM: Jazz Listening Class: Listening and comprehension of the jazz language, transcription of solos. Masterclass (Instrument Class). Theory and Ear Training Class: Functional pitch recognition, interval recognition, chord recognition, rhythm recognition, transcription. Rhythm Class: Learning how to play/sing with bass and drums, applications of different rhythmic concepts on your instrument/voice. Ensemble Class. Individual Lessons. Software Training Methods. The workshop is conceived for both Italian and foreign students. You can participate through auditions. The classes will be composed of only 8 students on each instrument, to ensure adequate attention for each student. Every student will have the chance to take an individual lession with the teacher of his instrument. Participants in the program will receive a certificate valid for the conservatory. The workshop will be held in the Centro Di Formazione e Produzione Artistica “L’Ottava”. The classrooms will be equipped with drums, grand pianos, and amplifiers.
