Roman Reigns injury updates: - D.C WWE Network did air an update on Roman Reigns today, almost two hours after the advertised start time. Scott Stanford interrupted programming from WWE studios in Stamford, CT and talked to WWEs Dr. Chris Amann about Reigns successful surgery and return. Amann relayed what has been covered here on the site already and said recovery time for this type of surgery could be anywhere from 4-12 weeks. Reigns woke up in his hotel room this morning with strong abdominal pains that got worse before WWE doctors advised him to go to a local hospital. Amann later told WWE that recovery time for this type of surgery is between 4-6 weeks but Reigns would likely be out closer to 6 weeks because he had a pretty significant hernia. Reigns will be staying overnight in a Nashville hospital tonight. WWE had two scripts for Night of Champions and one of them had Reigns not wrestling. Reigns condition is legitimate and was said to be a serious deal. WWEs writers have been working on re-writing three days worth of TV before Sunday afternoon. One of WWEs back-up plans reportedly fell through and that may have been their main plan for Reigns replacement. That plan falling through could be why they didnt interrupt WWE Network coverage today with an update on Reigns. An impression given was that they were going to announce the back-up plan on the Network. This has not been confirmed by WWE or any WWE sources but the obvious speculation is that Dean Ambrose, who wrapped WWE Studios Lockdown this weekend, will likely do something with Seth Rollins instead.
