Romans 1:17 states “For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith. Some have pictured justification by GRACE in this way. You are in a courtroom and God is the judge. You are accused of horrible debts. In fact, you are guilty. The judge hears the case and you are found guilty. But just then, your attorney, Christ Jesus steps in and says, “Your honor, I have paid all my clients’ debts.” Then the judge acquits you, because of what Christ did for you. You are no longer guilty in God’s eyes. Christ bought you out of condemnation. Christ redeemed you from your sins! For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
