Romans 11:25-29 All Israel Will Be Saved 25 So that you may not - TopicsExpress

Romans 11:25-29 All Israel Will Be Saved 25 So that you may not claim to be wiser than you are, brothers and sisters, I want you to understand this mystery: a hardening has come upon part of Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved; as it is written, “Out of Zion will come the Deliverer; he will banish ungodliness from Jacob.” 27 “And this is my covenant with them, when I take away their sins.” 28 As regards the gospel they are enemies of God for your sake; but as regards election they are beloved, for the sake of their ancestors; 29 for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. Comment: Paul continues here reminding Christians not to think more highly of themselves than they should. Paul reveals a mystery here, namely that some Jews have had a hardening of the heart in order to allow Gentile Christians to come into the family of God. God is being patient with Gentile Christians until their full number have come into God’s family. It is also important to note here that Paul reminds us that all Jews are still loved by God. What do you think? Charles Swindoll made these comments to Christians in his commentary on this section of Romans, “We have a responsibility to steward the privileges we have been given, not to lord it over others but to be living invitations to receive God’s grace.” What is your response to Mr. Swindoll’s comment above?
