Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies - TopicsExpress

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Paul warned the Galatians, “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” I am fearful that many today are following some other “Jesus” than the one who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross and gave his life once to be offered up for our sins. One idea of Christianity is that you can come as you are and stay as you are, but the other is come as you are, repent, and allow Christ to change you, removing the impurities of this world and adding the fruits of the Spirit. Some claim they made a “decision” for Christ many years ago, but their life never shows forth any fruit of that “decision”. No we are not saved by our own good works or by our own righteousness, but we endeavor to produce good fruit after we truly repent and believe the gospel. The Holy Spirit will instill that desire in us. For by grace are we saved, not works, it is the gift of God, and we are HIS workmanship created unto good works. If you are following a “Jesus” that allows you to live comfortably in the lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of live, then I fear you have been deceived and know not the true Saviour! If He be in us, then the truth will be in us. Do you truly desire to follow the Saviour as Lord, or do you just want to reap the benefits of knowing Him? Many wanted to see His miracles, be healed, and eat bread and fish; but, few wanted to follow Him as disciples. Seek Him while He may be found! The Lord is our light and our salvation. 2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
