Romans 15:4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Never in the history of man has this been more revelelant and true; we must put our hope in Christ Jesus, he must be our foundation. There is only one way to build that solid foundation and that way is through knowing the Word. Verse after verse reveals to those who seek instruction on how to follow Jesus, how to truly be his disciple, to share his gospel in love and with grace. 1 Corinthians 3:10-11 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. I feel relief and gratitude that my brothers and sisters in Christ are all building their own foundations based on the same solid rock as I. They, like me, are not relying on themselves, but on the Scriptures to shore up their lives and their future. He alone gives us the strength to endure what we have to endure, the love to share his truth and the encouragement that keeps us building higher and higher on that foundation. 1 Corinthians 3:7&9 So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. For we are co-workers in Gods service, you are Gods field, Gods building. Thank you God for giving me all I need to plant and water your field and to build upon your foundation, your building. I need your strength, your grace, your love, and with all of those things working together I am going to endure. To endure in todays world, I must know, use, and share the Scriptures that were written in the former days. Let us stay committed to planting Gods field with the power that comes from Jesus Christ. Let us continue our watering so that Gods field will forever bear fruit. Let us build on a foundation that was laid by the One true God for his purpose. We, you and I are co-workers, and the only way to provide the bread of life to a hungry and dying world.
