Rome in a Day Last month Doncaster artist Katherine Milns/Bailey flew out to Rome with Scarlett Entertainment as their watercolour artist for Huawei’s Gala Dinner at the Pinacoteca del Tesoriere, in the Piazza San Luigi dei Francesi in the centre of Rome. Katherine spent two days out and about painting the sights and architecture of Rome. She worked at great speeds, day and night, to produce 45 delightful watercolour paintings of the piazza’s, forts, domes and palaces that we recognise from one of the world’s most captivating, vibrant and beautiful cities. During Huawei’s Gala Dinner amongst 50 VIP clients from around the world and with living statues, art historians, musicians and Opera singers, Katherine painted the guests and entertainment in the luxurious surroundings of the Pinacoteca del Tesoriere. With big smiles each VIP guest took an original watercolour with them after the event. Painting a total of 52 paintings in just a few days, this was definitely Katherine’s “biggest challenge yet!” “It was a lot of work. It was a completely exhausting, a little stressful, but an absolutely brilliant experience.
