Rome wasnt built in a day, and if you told someone Rome was - TopicsExpress

Rome wasnt built in a day, and if you told someone Rome was offensive and was to be taken down in a day it would take more than a day as well - this is an analogy I will use as to why we must allow the necessary steps in order to evolve compassionately and free our animal friends from their current enslaved conditions. If you ask for too much at once society turns their backs. If you ask for kinder conditions nicely, it happens and that step leads to the next, until all animals are eventually freed from these gulags and misery. I often see vegans who have gone so far across the spectrum they get impatient and forget to listen to common sense. If an organisation or fellow activist asks nicely that a supermarket stops stocking caged eggs for example, they get angry and call people like that a useless welfarist who is keeping animals in their hellish conditions by only asking for better conditions. What they fail to realise is that some people who appear that way are the most dedicated abolitionists they might ever come across in disguise. Like Animals Australia for example. Their goal is an end to factory farming as they state on every piece of merchandise they send out but their requests start off very polite and small - and then you see the snowball effect from that first request and then everything speeds up naturally. Those who sit back and criticise saying these organisations/activists are not doing enough are actually stationary and completely useless themselves, not getting on TV to do the ad campaigns and not changing hearts and minds on the same scale as those they are so arrogant to keep attacking. We have a spectrum in this world. From those who dont care a fig about anyone but themselves all the way over to those who live and breathe for this cause. The way forward is to be moderate - because then you appeal to all types of people and you get results. Being extreme, self righteous and to set the bar too high to the point where you are attacking those who are fighting for the same cause is the very definition of foolishness. A supermarket manager of IGA has made the overnight decision to remove all caged eggs from their shelves and it happened because she saw an Animals Australia video clip of a poor hen who lived on a pile of excrement in a factory farm. I have now taken the video interview from channel 7 and sent it to my local grocer as well and if they agree to remove theirs, we will see a big change and so on, and so on. It is quite ironic to me that there will be some vegans who call me, others who are doing the same and that organisation welfarist for not asking them to remove ALL eggs from those shelves, but the stupid, foolish thing about that is that those supermarkets never would have agreed to go that far if that had been our request, so we would have remained here, spinning our wheels. The next step will be exposing free range farms for the cruelty they exhibit (trust me, they will be cruel too, the industry is all cruel) and then we will take the next step but for now, history is changing right in front of our eyes and despite how hard it is for us to be patient in light of all the horror we see every day to our fellow beings, we must be strong and step lightly because its like a well oiled machine - its getting things moving rapidly and at an unprecedented rate. Be patient and be determined and we will get there.
