RomeMUN 2015 EDITION The 6th RomeMUN is coming!!!! Save the date 14rd-18th March 2015! The 2015 conference will be full of new challenges and surprises. We are expected to host 2000 participants from all over the world. COMMITTEES & TOPICS At RomeMUN 2015 there will be represented 10 committees; one of them will be MULTILINGUAL (Security Council) and another one will be entirely conducted in Italian and will be reserved for foreign delegates NOT enrolled in an Italian University. Works in the RomeMUN 2015 Committees will be inspired by the leading theme of the Conference FEEDING THE PLANET, ENERGY FOR LIFE”; below the list of the committees and related topics: UNESCO - UNITED NATIONS EDUCATIONAL, SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL ORGANIZATION Education and awareness on nutrition problems. Only for students not enrolled in Italy-based University or High School) Each one of 193 delegations will be composed by 2 (minimum) to 19 (maximum) delegates, according to the presence or the absence of the delegation in each of the ten committees. Starting from the 2015 edition the assignment procedures will be entirely AUTOMATICALLY conducted. Once the registration is completed, candidates will have a direct access to a dedicated online section where they will be requested to specify their role (they would like to act during the conference) and the Committee/ s they would like to work in. Assignments will be automatically performed following a “first come-first served basis” criteria. Only few seats will be discretionally assigned by the RomeMUN 2015 Scientific Committee. PREPARATION All the applicants, who have completely filled the Application Form will have the possibility to attend formative in-depth meetings upon the most relevant ongoing issues of the international politics with outstanding representatives of the world of international Diplomacy that will be organized and planned by our team of volunteers. Once the registration is completed, candidates will receive the confirmation of the Country/ Network/language and the Committee they will work in.. Starting from the assignment, the preparation phase of RomeMUN conference begins. Each one of 193 delegations will be composed by 2 (minimum) to 8 (maximum) delegates, according to the presence or the absence of the delegation in each committee. The Research Committee will inform participants regarding the colleagues they will work with, so they will able to get in touch starting from January/February.. Delegates will also have access to didactic preparation materials in English, containing the rules of procedures for RomeMUN 2015, the delegate guide and Committee guide. They could also access to two preparation video in English, which will help them to fully understand how UN and Model UN work. Moreover, participants of RomeMUN have the unique opportunity to debate and interact with their colleagues and the officials, through the dedicated online Forum (for further information please visit Forum Online section click here) Before RomeMUN starts, each delegation in each committee is required to send to the Research Committee a position paper on the agenda topics for their committee. The best position paper among all will be awarded as Best position paper during the closing ceremony. . FORUM ONLINE RomeMUN is the very first case of a Web Model United Nations, allowing students to fully experience all the opportunities offered by 2.0 diplomacy. Once the registration procedure is completed, all participants will be able to register on the online forum at the following address romemun.org/forum..Since the registration is accepted, participants will have access to additional info, dedicated online chat, preparation materials and much more. Moreover, they will have the possibility to contact our tutors and officials, and exchange info on preparation or start the first debates on the agenda topics with delegates worldwide. Forum registration is free and it is strictly reserved too RomeMUN participants, officials and Giovani nel Mondo staff members. To register is necessary to fulfill the forum registration with a username ( name OR surname_ country/ network/language) and wait for the confirmation mail. The past edition trial with the online forum has fully demonstrate how new technologies are a useful tools to tear down multilateral diplomacy expenses and to favor the concrete goals of UN. It could be a global., useful and cheap answer to nowadays diplomacy problems. SOCIAL EVENTS RomeMUN is not just an unique occasion to live directly multilateral diplomacy, but it is also a great opportunity to meet youths from all over the world. After the big success of RomeMUN 2015, participants can enrich their Roman experience through the social events that RomeMUN organization is organizing for all delegates. These will be very special occasions for participants to spend their free time together, having fun and discover the wonderful city of Rome.
