Ron Paul recently argued that French foreign policy in North Africa and the Middle East explains (i.e. motivated) the Charlie Hebdo attack. I beg to differ. While I do not doubt that blowback is an issue with foreign policy and it has motivated a great share of terrorism, I find it hard to believe that Islamic radicals chose a satirical publication that made offensive depictions of Muhammad if they were primarily looking to get revenge for or make a statement about Frances military adventurism. Lets not apply the same mold to every case thinking that theyre all the same.
