Ronaldo Leave Madrid.CoMe bCk hoMe Prince:Former Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo, 28, has informed the Premier League champions that he would like to return to the club one day , most probably to end his career according to the Guardian. United have been monitoring the Real Madrid attacker’s situation for almost a year and have got clear information that a move will not happen before next summer. Ronaldo is expected to sign a new Real Madrid contract amid the imminent arrival of Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur, for a fee that could eclipse the £80m Madrid paid to United to lure the Portugal captain away from Old Trafford. Realistically, United believe that Ronaldo could spend his last three or four years as a professional with them. It is of course possible that Ronaldo’s flirtation with his former club is a ploy to get himself the best possible deal at Madrid. But what is for sure is that United will likely have to break the bank to resign their former player. The Portuguese international is not only Madrid’s main player but also holds tremendous value to the Spanish giants in a commercial sense. So far this summer Manchester United and David Moyes have been unsuccessful in flexing their financial muscle as they failed to get top target Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona and have antagonised the Everton board following a ‘derisory’ £28m bid for Toffees’ duo Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines. He is too good a player for Manchester United to not take the chance that he is serious about a move back. The club reminded him of his popularity at Old Trafford when Real Madrid visited in the UEFA Champions League; announcing his name last in the Madrid team sheet to a huge roar of approval from the United supporters. Ronaldo’s feud with Mourinho last season strengthened United’s hand but the Portuguese manager has since left his post and this may result in Ronaldo becoming more settled and happier in Spain, following his announcement that he was ‘sad’ at Real Madrid last season. Factor into the equation that Ronaldo’s mentor Sir Alex Ferguson is no longer at Old Trafford and it looks as though United will have to work very, very hard to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club.
