Ronnie James Dio Live San Francisco 2004. My Brother and I shot this exclusive footage. Memories? Anthrax opening with John Bush and Dio for a cool Halloween Show. Whenever Ronnie hit the Bay Area we were always there for an interview -chat backstage or meet and greet. Ronnie was a very talented special man. His unique strong voice and creative lyrical mind Hit me hard. .He Captured me at an early age. In Catholic school the most rebellious thing to do was listen to Black Sabbath and Kiss Music. Ronnie’s lyrics were like a comic book mixed with Biblical references. It was always an interesting conversation when I would ask about lyrics. I remember asking Ronnie about “the Sign of the Southern Cross” -his lyrics -Whispers from forgotten psalms or did you say Saul-. Did you mean the Apostle Paul?. It was a very heavy conversation. He Said it’s like “Catch 22” Hmmm it was also Ronnie’s favorite book.. I have a personal chuckle when I hear Ronnie Do the “Pull the String.” It’s from the Movie Ed Wood. I was in a way his Bay Area Ed Wood -always with a camera or mic asking questions. I’m thankful he was always patient and kind with me. Like an Underboss paying respect to the Don- I always reported to him when he would hit the Bay Area. I would always get the Hey Kid how you been Michael Magic with a huge smile. Something I will always remember. We captured some great footage for the fans. I went to the Memorial and met quite a few of you folks. We are his Rock and Roll Children .We loved him and he loved us. That’s a great way to live a life .Full of Love and Selfless giving.
